Planning for 4 days in Seattle

Next week we will be traveling to Seattle (and a quick stop in Vancouver). It will be our first time in Seattle (and Vancouver) and we are really looking forward to it.

But you may ask: why are you going there now, when it’s colder than Florida? Our answer: to attend a Pearl Jam concert! My husband is a huge fan and the whole family loves their music, so why not combine our passions for music and travel and make the most of it?

Vancouver will be basically our first stop, as the three of us will be attending their concert – and it will be our daughter’s first! And then on to Seattle, where my husband will attend their final concert on their North American tour. We are all really looking forward to see Pearl Jam playing and also to spend 4 days in Seattle.

To plan for our trip, we used the awesome Top 10 Seattle DK Eyewitness Travel (which is a long time favorite resource and that DK Travel was kind enough to send us a copy!) and the awesome off-the-press Seattle City Guide that VisitSeattle.org sent us.

So here is what we are planning to do (apart from the Pearl Jam concerts 🙂 ):

1) Buy a Seattle City Pass

While I am not a big fan of City passes, this one fit our range of interests perfectly. It gives you access to 6 of Seattle’s must-see attractions and here is what we will be visiting:

* Pacific Science Center

* Hop on an Argosy Cruise

All this is included in the price of the Seattle City Pass and I hope we can see/do everything in 4 days!

2) Explore Pike Place Market

We love a market and this is such a must-see, so there is no way we will skip this.

3) Eat dim sum!

Living in Miami, without a Chinatown has left us missing one of our favorite dishes. So we intend on having dim sum at least 3 of the 4 days we will be there.

4) Plan our return trip

We have never been to Seattle but we already know we need to go back. And we will have to go back when it’s Spring/Summer so we can enjoy the outdoors more – because I already know we will be staying indoors a lot.

So this is our very simple and laid back itinerary for Seattle. Follow us this coming week on Twitter, Facebook and Google+ for a live feed of our experiences in Seattle.
