I think my husband said it all about our trip to Seattle: we went there for Pearl Jam but found so much more.
The city has a laid back vibe and everyone seems to be friendly, ready to help and in a great mood all the time. And the fact that they have a laid back vibe doesn’t make the people unprofessional; on the contrary, this amazing city proves that you can be laid back and still be professional and get things done. I could live there – but in Spring and Summer, not used to the cold anymore 🙂
One of the many great things about Seattle is how easy it is to get from the Sea-Tac airport to downtown. Here is how:
1. Follow the signs to the Link Light Rail.
2. Upon arrival at the Link Light Rail lobby, go to the machines and follow the instructions to get your downtown ticket. The last stop in downtown Seattle is Westlake station; since the price to downtown is the same, I would just select Westlake.
3. Board the train and 37 minutes later, you will be arriving at Westlake station in downtown Seattle!
Very simple, isn’t it? And the price is also good, $2.75 was what we paid now in December 2013. Also, it is interesting to know that the Westlake station is where you board the Monorail that will take you to the Space Needle (price was the same as the Link Rail, however the two services are not connected and the Monorail is cash only).
Two resources that were very important to our trip planning were the DK Top 10 Seattle and the Visit Seattle City Guide. The Top 10 Seattle maps and info by area were all we needed to walk around and the City Guide helped us with current events in the city. So get planning and visit Seattle! This city will surprise and inspire you and your family!
