Paris is to some the most romantic city in the world. I just think it is one of the most beautiful in the world and the beauty comes from a combination of history and je ne sais quoi.
Here is a 1 day itinerary that we did and can fit both families with children and honeymooners:
Morning: start your day at Pont des Arts with its artists and love locks, but watch out for pick-pockets.
Then head towards the Cathédrale Notre Dame and get ready to be amazed by this 850 year old marvel. There are a lot of people there and apparently even more if you try to climb the towers (which we never did) but it is worth the visit.
Afternoon: after the visit to Notre Dame you will be hungry, so just cross the Seine River towards the Latin Quarter and have lunch in one of the restaurants close to the Sorbonne.
After that, Jardin du Luxembourg is the place to go to have some fun and relax a little. We love this place so much that going there and playing with the little boats became a family tradition.
Evening: after all the fun at Luxembourg Gardens, it’s time to walk to the Eiffel Tower. You can take the bus, the metro or the Batobus, but we preferred to go walking.
We passed by the Pont Alexandre III and Les Invalides (or Musée de l’Armée) and then we finally arrived at the Eiffel Tower. Since we didn’t pre-book our tickets, we waited in line for about an hour, but it was so worth it to see it at night.
This was our day 1 in Paris. We made it as relaxing as we could and deciding to just walk was great, because we were able to see the tower from different angles and get some great views. Plus, going up the Eiffel Tower at night is as romantic as it gets and the views are just amazing!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
